Legal Maternity DNA Test

The Legal Maternity DNA Test is used to confirm whether a woman is the biological mother of a child when results are required for court or official purposes. This test may be requested for birth certificate corrections, custody matters, immigration, inheritance, government benefits, or other legal situations where documented proof of maternity is required.

All testing is performed by an AABB-accredited U.S. laboratory using validated procedures and strict chain-of-custody protocols. Participant identities are verified at the time of collection, and all samples are securely documented and handled to ensure the results are admissible for court and official use in all 50 states. Final reports are notarized and issued as official documentation.

Sample collection must be completed by a qualified medical professional. You may choose to have collection performed at a nearby approved facility through our nationwide network, or you may arrange collection through your own physician or medical clinic. If participants are located in different cities or states, separate collection appointments can be arranged so each individual can be tested at a convenient location.

Once all samples are received by the laboratory, results are typically available within 1–2 business days. If email delivery is selected, results are sent securely within 24 hours of test completion, and a notarized hard-copy report is mailed shortly afterward.
