Legal Family Reconstruction DNA Test

The Legal Family Reconstruction DNA Test is designed for situations where the alleged father cannot be tested. This advanced analysis compares the child’s DNA with two or more close paternal relatives—such as the alleged father’s parents or full siblings—to evaluate whether a biological relationship exists. All testing is performed in an AABB-accredited U.S. laboratory using documented chain-of-custody procedures to ensure results are accurate, notarized, and accepted for legal and official use in all 50 states.

Sample collection must be completed by an approved third-party professional. You may choose to use your own doctor’s office or schedule an appointment at one of our nationwide collection locations. If participants live in different cities or states, separate collection sites or appointments can be arranged, with all samples securely linked to the same case.

Once all samples are received by the laboratory, testing typically begins immediately. Results are usually completed within several business days. If email delivery is selected, a PDF report is sent within 24 hours of completion, and a printed report is mailed shortly afterward.

Family reconstruction testing is a valuable option for legal matters such as inheritance, benefits, custody, or other cases where establishing a biological relationship is required but direct paternity testing is not possible. If the case involves testing other children of the alleged father, a sibling DNA test may be more appropriate.
